Wingate is one of those towns where everybody knows their neighbors, the pace is a little slower, and most people have been in their home long enough to fill a garage three times over. It's a small community — population under 4,000 — built around Wingate University and surrounded by the older residential streets and quiet rural edges that define this part of Union County. If you're a Wingate resident ready to clear out years of accumulated items, or a renter moving out of student housing near the university, here's exactly how junk removal works with County Junk Removal — from the first call to the empty space.
Step 1: Get a Quote — Text a Photo
The fastest way to get an accurate price is to text a photo of what you need hauled to (980) 446-2900. A clear shot of the pile, the room, or the items you want gone gives us what we need to price the job. We'll text back with an estimate based on how much truck space your load will use — usually within the hour during business hours.
You can also call us directly or fill out the quote form on our contact page. We're a small family operation run by Erik and Henry Saunders. When you reach out, you're talking to one of the owners — not a dispatcher or an answering service. That means faster responses and none of the runaround.
Step 2: Schedule at Your Convenience
We work Monday through Saturday, 8am to 6pm, and we try to answer calls and texts early — before 8am when possible. Same-day and next-day appointments are regularly available depending on our schedule. Wingate is a short drive from our base in south Charlotte, so we can get to you quickly once you're booked.
Timing flexibility matters in Wingate. If you're coordinating around a lease end date, a university semester move-out, or a property showing, let us know when you schedule and we'll work around your deadline. We regularly handle jobs that need to happen on a specific day, and we'll do our best to make that work.
Step 3: We Do All the Work
We arrive in a 2019 Isuzu NPR dump truck with a 17-cubic-yard bed. That's one of the larger trucks in the market — bigger than what most junk removal companies run — which means most jobs load out in a single trip, no matter how much has piled up over the years.
You don't need to move anything to the curb or sort into piles before we arrive. We carry items from wherever they are — back bedroom, detached garage, shed at the rear of the property, basement, attic with pull-down stairs. Just point us to what needs to go and we handle it. If you're still going through things when we arrive, that's fine. Many of our Wingate jobs involve real-time sorting decisions — you keep what you want to keep, we haul the rest.
Once everything is loaded, we do a walkthrough with you to confirm the job is complete, collect payment, and leave. The space is clear. No mess left behind.
What Does It Cost?
All our pricing is all-in: labor, hauling, and disposal are included. No separate charges for stairs, distance, or the time it takes to carry items from a back shed. Here's the full pricing structure:
- Minimum load — $99 (a few items, a small pile)
- 1/4 truck — $249 (several pieces of furniture, a stack of appliances, a small room corner)
- 1/2 truck — $399 (a full bedroom worth of junk, a partial garage cleanout)
- 3/4 truck — $549 (substantial garage cleanout, multi-room clear)
- Full truck — $699 (whole-property cleanout, estate volume, full garage)
Dense debris — concrete, brick, dirt, roofing shingles — is priced by weight rather than volume. If your load is a mix of standard junk and heavy material, we'll quote each component separately so you know what to expect before we start.
What Happens to Your Items After We Haul?
We sort as we load. Furniture in usable condition, working appliances, tools, outdoor equipment, and household goods that can still serve someone are separated for donation or resale where possible. We work with local donation partners in Union County to keep reusable items out of the landfill.
What can't be reused goes to Union County-approved disposal facilities. If you have questions about specific items — old TVs, mattresses, propane tanks, paint cans — ask when you call. We'll tell you upfront how each item gets handled.
What We Cannot Haul
We can't take household hazardous waste (paint, solvents, chemicals), flammable or explosive materials, or biohazardous items. If you have something on your list that you're unsure about, ask before we arrive. It's always better to sort that out ahead of time than to have a surprise on job day.
Wingate Is a Different Kind of Job
Wingate has a character you don't find in the newer subdivisions around Union County. The homes are older. Many have been in the same family for years. Move-out cycles run on the university calendar — students and faculty turnover creates a consistent need for cleanouts at the end of each semester or academic year. Rental properties near Wingate University accumulate items fast when tenants turn over.
We do this kind of work regularly in Wingate and throughout Union County. Whether you're clearing out a home that hasn't been touched in a decade, emptying a rental before the next tenant, or finally getting to the pile in the garage that's been there since you moved in, the process is the same: text a photo to (980) 446-2900, get a price, and we'll handle the rest. See our Wingate service page for more on what we handle in this area.
